Celltex Therapeutics Corporation, a leading biotechnology company in its field, focused on spearheading breakthroughs in regenerative medicine using adult, autologous (one’s own) mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) for regenerative and wellness therapies, has added John Hunewill as Vice President of Marketing. In this role, he is responsible for the domestic and international marketing growth of the company.
Hunewill graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Syracuse University and also holds a Master of Science in Molecular Biology from New York University. Hunewill’s educational background in the Life Sciences complements his expertise of over 15 years working with national brands in developing and leading strategic marketing plans. This combined experience is instrumental to his expert knowledge and strategic vision for the commercial stem cell market and Celltex Therapeutics in the United States and beyond.
Hunewill previously worked for the National Football League, where he led retail partnerships and developed marketing and merchandising strategies to increase revenue for the League. He also worked for Modell’s Sporting Goods and Academy Sports + Outdoors, where he was responsible for leading brand strategy with a focus on brand and campaign management, creative development and media planning.
“We are proud to welcome John Hunewill to Celltex, and are confident in the expertise he brings to the company as we work together in our mission to improve quality of life for millions through our proprietary mesenchymal stem cell technology,” says Celltex Chairman and CEO David Eller.
“I’ve been fortunate to work with some very successful brands for nearly two decades,” says Hunewill. “One thing that has always been missing for me has been a link back to my passion for health and science. I’m excited to join Celltex and encouraged by the opportunity to do truly purposeful work in helping to grow this great company.”
Hunewill is also a lecturer for the University of Houston, where he teaches a graduate course in global retailing that focuses on educating future business leaders in all aspects of retail management, from merchandise planning to marketing and operations. Hunewill also serves the YMCA of Katy as a board member.
